What do I do first?

 

You will receive your grant package within 30 days of the signing of the legislation by the Governor. Then you will need to complete and submit your application package for each grant, that will include:

  • Capital Grant Application
  • Affidavit - Religious Purposes
  • Affidavit – Lobbying
  • Insurance Certificate
  • Project Review Form from MHT
  • Corporate Diversity Addendum

A copy of the grant agreement will be emailed to you, after DGS reviews your application. The copy of the agreement, with original signatures, signed by all parties must be returned along with match documentation, if required.​


How do I get the money?

 

  • Contract amounts eligible for grant participation and vendors have to be approved by Department of General Services
  • The Maryland Historical Trust must review the project 


Do all vendors have to be approved?

 

All vendors that you are using for your matching fund expenditures and for payment by the State have to be licensed and registered to do business in the State of Maryland.​

What do I have to submit to get contracts approved?

 

You must submit procurement method (how was vendor selected?), tabulation of bids (listing the vendors along with vendors address, city & state only), bid amount, contracts, scope of work & construction schedule.​

How long does it take to get approval by the Board of Public Works?

 

Providing everything is complete and in order, five to six weeks of submission of Grant Agreements​.

What documents are required when acquiring real property with bond funds?

 

​If your bond bill grants your organization funds to buy real property, you must submit to DGS a current appraisal (No more than 2 years old), contract of sale and the preliminary settlement sheet.  Appraisals have to be reviewed by DGS, Real Estate Division.​
